Dr. Cerrati trained in New York City and Chicago, including a residency in head and neck surgery at New York University, followed by a fellowship sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

As a sports enthusiast, Dr. Cerrati is proud to be the official facial plastic surgeon to the Utah Jazz, U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, U.S. Speedskating, U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, and the International Olympic and Paralympic Medical Committees.

Dr. Cerrati is dedicated to the advancement of facial plastic surgery, spending time training other physicians as an Assistant Professor and Director of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Utah. He lectures nationally, writes textbook contributions and peer-reviewed articles on facial plastic surgery, and has been an internationally-invited faculty for surgical courses. Each year he joins a team of volunteer physicians to travel to third world countries providing cleft lip and palate surgeries.
